CSR2 How to beat Tyler Shax and his crew CSR 2 Racing Tips

So you’ve made it to Tier 5 and you’ve beaten everyone except for the crew boss (the nattily attired Tyler Shax). And no matter how hard you try you can’t progress up the ladder beyond the $15,300 prize (ladder race number 36 and beyond).

Before you give up on CSR 2 Racing let me let you in on a secret…you’re going to need a bigger boat.

Actually you’re going to need better upgrades.

And if you’ve already purchased all of the stage 5 upgrades you’re going to have to figure out a way to get some stage 6 upgrades (and some fusion parts as well).

But first I have some good news and some bad news…

The bad news is that it’s going to take some time.

The good news is that you’re going to have some fun, collect some awesome cars, and become a better racer along the way.

Here’s what you need to do:

Visit Donna Banks as often as possible to open up prize crates. You get to open one for free every four hours. This is a great way to get fusion parts that can be used to increase your cars rating and accumulate evo points.

Join a Crew and participate in every Crew Challenge. This is a great way to win Respect Points for your crew which will award you and your crew with Special Crew Perks. Search for the ToeKeeOh crew to join my crew.

Participate in the highest paying Ladder Races, Daily Battles, Regulation Races, Fusion Trials, Prestige Cups, Supply Trials, and everything else that pops up (there’s something new every day).

The easiest way to win a new car is to take part in the tournaments that reward you with keys. You can go through a 15 race key reward tournament with a single tank of gas and collect 175 bronze keys and 50 silver keys which you can use to collect a bunch of parts, $200,000 cash, and special edition cars like a customized Corvette Stingray.

A few caveats:

Use your own judgement when participating in Live Racing Events. Connection issues may result in a poor launch which will result in a sure loss which, if you’ve placed a substantial “bet” can result in a hefty loss of virtual cash.

The first 20 or so Daily Battles are easy. After that they are very difficult. Can’t remember the last time I won one.

The first 20 or so Ladder Races are easy. After that they are hard. There are easier events to race in that are just as rewarding.

Make sure your car is properly tuned before purchasing special Nitrous to win a boss car. Check out my CSR2 Tuning article here.

    What’s after kiyayas challenge

  2. Mukesh says:

I defeated Tyler shah with my 570s in 12.1 secs only with full stage 5 upgrades and lost another challange and my gold too….What to do next…?
    Is the game over now?

  3. dre says:

hey sir roland!! do you have any idea how fast shax’s agera is? like how fast can it finish a halfmile race?

    • Roland Bonay says:

hello sir dre – his car is very fast…I have not beat him and I’ve tried 100 times.

    • RAsingh13 says:

Hi, I have the time of his Car for all 4 races (pink slip too) and here they are.

      Race 5
      Tyler Shax
      Ticket Time: 13.557

      Race 6
      Tyler Shax
      Ticket Time: 12.956

Right, this is the last and final race to finally defeat Tyler, good luck!

      Race 7:
      Tyler Shax
      Ticket Time:12.430

I beat shax with the huracan with only 1 stage 6 upgrade. I got the stage 6 upgrade and a ton of fusion parts from buying and stripping another huracan. My advice is to save up to buy the identical car and strip it.

  5. 1337Pwnzor says:

I think the Daily battles are now fixed, cause I’m on 80 right now. First 20 are easy, then after that your advantage is one or two upgrades only. Perfect race is not necessary, unless it’s a no nitro race, in which case it is a MUST. Best examples for those annoying no nitro races are Lykan and GT3R imo.

  6. 1337Pwnzor says:

If you want to win Tyler’s car (Agera R(?)), I read that you’ll need a car with a sub-12 second 1/2 mile time, if I’m not mistaken. So that probably means a good long time for stage 6 upgrades…
I also read somewhere that you should get a car that you have the most stage 6 upgrades for.
Still new to CSR2 myself, just keen on getting a few tips.

    • Roland Bonay says:

You are correct…you need at least 2 stage 6 upgrades to make it even a close race. Three stage 6 upgrades and you stand a good chance of winning if you are perfectly tuned and you hit all the perfect shift points. Unfortuneatley it can take FOREVER to acquire that many stage 6 parts for the car you already own. So yes, a smart move would be to get a car that you have the most stage 6 upgrades for – even if it’s a car that you don’t like.

      • 1337Pwnzor says:

Just curious, which car did you defeat Shax with, and did you get his car?
And does that 2-3 stage 6 upgrades rule work for all T5 cars or are some cars better than others?

        • Roland Bonay says:

I haven’t defeated him yet – still waiting for stage 6 parts. I don’t think there is a T5 car capable of beating Shax without at least one major (engine or turbo) stage 6 part.

          • 1337Pwnzor says:

Well, looks like it’s a major grindfest starting from T3 then. As far as I know, T1 and T2 boss cars can be won without stage 6 parts (with Fiesta and M235i on my part). Oh boy.

          • Roland Bonay says:

Let me know how you do going forward.

          • 1337Pwnzor says:

Now mid-T3, thanks to Ashleigh’s CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake. Only came back now cause of the massive update size, had to reinstall the game. Using M4 is quite tricky, especially on launching it perfectly. It’s either slow start or wheelspin start for me, and that kills my time.

          • Roland Bonay says:

Well at least you can take solace in the knowledge that you’ll keep getting better with every race. Most people would just give up.

  7. Arnold says:

    Hi Roland,
Good to read you are still into CSR racing….the successor CSR2 is indeed more entertaining and the racer is more in control of his or her own settings. After finishing the story (completing all 5 tiers) there is enough of variety left too keep yourself busy. I like the crew things a lot. At this point i am level 70 and its still not boring or so.

Good luck racing and if you need any advice just ask.

    Arnold – the Netherlands

    • Roland Bonay says:

      Thanks Arnold,
I have not raced for a few days because I can’t win enough stage 6 upgrades to beat Tyler Shax. There are new stories coming soon for tier 1 thru 4 so I’m looking forward to that. Thanks for the advice offer and I’m sure I’ll take you up on that. Have a great day!
